My Toddler’s Lunch

I was just so pleased with how enthused my little girl was by her lunch today that I had to get a picture! Clockwise from top left: diced avocadoes, juice-packed mandarin oranges, cashews, barley, and great northern beans. She devoured everything except the beans (she only ate a few). I used to make it more of a priority to give her lots of variety in her meals, but I confess I’ve gotten lazy lately, offering peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and applesauce a lot. I was inspired by my current read, “Disease-Proof Your Child,” by Dr. Joel Fuhrman, to offer my child more variety and more whole foods. She loved the choices and I feel recommitted to offering diverse whole food meals to my kids.
